Science Week 2024
Sunshine and Wellies Week!
Yes, the most exciting week on the calendar is almost here. Oakthorpe’s famous SCIENCE WEEK is back!
(Monday 3th June – Friday 7th June 2024).
This year we are exploring the great outdoors!
We will all be spending the week outside finding out more about our new WETLAND area and the plants and animals that are now calling it their home. We will find out how our wetland is helping us to tackle climate change and how we can use it to encourage more diverse plant and animal life to our little corner of N13!
As always, we aim to give all children a fun and interactive experience, and therefore the week will be packed with lots of opportunities for some in-depth learning. We are going to be creating new habitats around our school grounds and using them to support our science learning throughout the year. All of our children are keen scientists and this promises to be our best week ever!
On Friday 7th June we are inviting parents and carers from 3.20 until 3.40 to come and see what we’ve been up to! If you have more than 1 child, please allow time for you to visit their classes as the final bell will ring at 3.40. If you are unable to make it then we will be putting photos on our website soon.
Since we will be outside in all weathers, please ensure that your child is dressed accordingly each day.
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £2.00 to go towards the cost of resources.
